Welcome to MCHIT!

Thank you to all who participated in the MCHIT Coalition Meeting on September 18, 2009.  Presentation slides are to the right under "MCHIT Meeting Documents".  To view the meeting archive click here

The Michigan Coalition for Health Information Technology (MCHIT) is a broad-based, collaborative effort of individuals and organizations across the state to enhance and promote interoperable health information technology. The coalition is preparing the groundwork for an application to the federal government for a Regional Health Information Technology Extension Center (RHITEC), a research development innovation initiative, developing an HIT workforce, and other related activities. Funding for these initiatives is made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), otherwise known as the “stimulus package.”

Many MCHIT members are actively promoting health information technology (HIT) and health information exchange (HIE) in the state of Michigan. We welcome you to join us. Some possibilities include participation in a steering committee, developing policy, delivery of technical assistance, grant development, and generating letters of support. Please contact us using the box to the right if you are interested.
